Responsibilities: Support employees with setting up and troubleshooting mobile applications, primarily on iPads. Coordinate support to a queue of users, acting as a "mini help desk."
Skills Developed: Develop customer service skills, phone etiquette, and technical troubleshooting skills.
Requirements: Ideal for a student interested in IT or a career at Waldinger. Must be familiar with using an iPad.
Opportunities: The position offers the potential to develop into a full-time position. Transportation support may be provided, indicating assistance with commuting if necessary.
This internship is designed for students with an interest in IT, offering a practical introduction to technical support and customer service within a professional setting.

Student Friendly Internship Description:
Interns will gain hands-on experience in various service departments, learning skills such as tire mounting/balancing, brake pad replacement, AC evacuation and recharging, and more. The program includes using CDK DMS, identifix, and OEM diagnostic tools, with opportunities to learn about alignments, vehicle inspections, and quality control test drives. Safety practices and parts catalog usage are also covered, with an option for a collision/paint technician route focusing on repairs, estimating, and paint mixing/prep.
This apprenticeship provides a comprehensive introduction to automotive technician work, offering credentialing and a variety of hands-on experiences across service departments. Interns will be matched with an intern.
Graduates of the program that meet the company’s core values are guaranteed a job offer upon completion of the internship.

Forest Avenue Outreach

Program Details: A hands-on, "earn while you learn" apprenticeship readiness program introducing Des Moines area teens to the building trades through a blend of classroom and jobsite experiences. The program includes career exploration via the Multi-Craft Core Curriculum (MC3), field trips to Local Union Apprenticeship training centers and jobsites, hands-on experience with Habitat for Humanity, and guest industry speakers.
Certification: Participants will receive OSHA 10, First Aid / CPR training, and graduate with an industry-recognized credential and certificate.
Goals: Focuses on building pathways into the building trades for underserved and disadvantaged youth, promoting gender and racial equality in the workforce, and providing Des Moines youth with opportunities to explore careers in the building trades.

Retail Human Resources Summer Intern OR Retail Leadership

Program Details: A 10-week paid internship that combines self-paced learning modules with immersive hands-on training led by an in-store mentor. Interns work up to 40 hours per week based on their availability, with a flexible start date. The program also offers the ability to attend Hy-Vee Career Day on June 12th and concludes with an exit interview, with the opportunity for continued employment.
What You’ll Learn: Interns will gain knowledge and experience in customer service and friendliness, leadership and teamwork, problem solving and time management, and general retail store operations.

Eligibility: Currently a Junior in High School, on track to graduate within the next year, in good standing with High School administration. Effective verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills. Organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities/deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications/Competencies: Positive interaction skills, experience working within timelines and meeting goals, presentation experience, ability to learn Microsoft Office Programs.
Program Details: Interns will receive job-specific, hands-on training, learn health insurance basics, how Wellmark operates, and enhance networking and communication skills. The program includes mentoring, professional development, and the opportunity to meet leaders across the organization.
